3D Dimensional Analysis

The Three Dimensional analysis assesses the dimensional accuracy of a physical part compared to printed dimensions or Product and Manufacturing Information (PMI). When a part is defined by millions of points, there are subtle deviations, slight variations, and fine details and part size tolerance excludes traditional measuring techniques.3-Dimensional analysis from 3D scan data is the only way to conduct the inspection and quality control. Initially, the parts are scanned, we’ll align them with the original design in our analysis and inspection software. We perform the dimensional inspection, generating a deviation map and callouts for critical dimensions. The output is usually a simple mesh (STL file). This is then used to generate 3D color maps or inspection reports that are compared with the nominal design.
