FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Arm laser 3D scanning is one of the 3D Scanning techniques used to capture the digital shape of a physical object. A laser scanner is connected to an articulated arm that consists of multiple joins and DOF that helps the user reach all sides of the object during 3D Scanning.

The scanner projects a laser line across the object, and sensors inside the scanner detect the distortions caused by the object's surface. This data is processed to create a 3D model of the object

The cost depends on the size and complexity of the object, as well as the time required to scan it. Typically, our services start at USD 25 per hour (around ₹2500 INR per hour).

Arm laser scanners offer excellent accuracy, often starting at 5 microns, depending on the object size and scanning setup.

Arm laser scanners are appropriate for scanning medium-sized objects. However, you can still scan small objects starting from 20 mm in size.

Arm laser scanner output is typically a point cloud file; we can also export mesh files as .stl and .obj file formats. Note that arm laser scanners do not directly create CAD files. To convert scan data to CAD, we perform 3D reverse engineering.

Arm accuracy depends on the length of the arm; the scanner alone has an accuracy of 20 microns, so a 2.5-meter laser arm offers 60 microns.
