OVERVIEW

Figure 4® MED-WHT 10 Is A Firm, White Material That Is Suitable For A Variety Of Medical And Industrial Applications, Including Those That Need Biocompatibility, Sterilization, And/Or Heat Resistance. This Material Is Capable Of Satisfying The ISO 10993-5 And -10 Criteria For Biocompatibility (Cytotoxicity, Sensitization, And Irritation) And May Also Be Autoclave Sterilized. It Produces Very Accurate Components With Great Feature Resolution And Definition.

APPLICATIONS

  • Applications in general medicine that need biocompatibility, sterilization, and/or thermal resistance
  • Guides for surgical drills and splints
  • Models made of bone
  • Parts needing stiffness and/or resilience to high temperatures and/or water
  • Parts with fine detail

BENEFITS

  • Capable of adhering to the ISO 10993-5 and -10 biocompatibility requirements (cytotoxicity, sensitization and irritation)
  • Smooth surfaces enable the creation of stunning display models and prototypes.
  • Testing at elevated temperatures
  • True-to-CAD precision and fine detail on features

FEATURES

  • Biocompatible*
  • Autoclave sterilizable
  • Thermal conductivity more than 100 °C
  • Excellent tolerance to humidity/moisture
  • White and rigid

MATERIAL PROPERTIES

Where relevant, the complete set of mechanical characteristics is provided in accordance with ASTM and ISO standards. All components are conditioned for a minimum of 40 hours at 23 °C and 50% relative humidity in accordance with ASTM recommendations. Physical and mechanical qualities, as well as thermal properties, are all included in material properties.

ISOTROPIC PROPERTIES

Figure 4 technology creates isotropic components, which means that items printed along either the XYZ or Z axis will have equivalent mechanical qualities. Because parts do not need to be orientated to provide the best mechanical characteristics, the degree of freedom for part orientation for mechanical qualities is increased.
